PROJECT ACCESS TO WATER, SANITATION AND SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES KEY HYGIENE

As part of the activities of “PROJECT ACCESS TO WATER, SANITATION SUSTAINABLE AND PRACTICES KEY HYGIENE” in the municipality of Loreto, San Andres, San Javier and Trinidad in the Beni Department, they have conducted training workshops through home to family visits, on issues related to water quality, healthy hygiene practices (hand washing with soap, proper sewage disposal, water treatment at the point of consumption and management of menstrual hygiene). After home visits it has been able to identify families who consume unsafe water and immediately made the selection for the allocation of ceramic candle filters with metal support and training for use and operation.

Training workshops on hygiene practices aimed at students of educational units were also performed. To help with this action consistent hygiene kits were provided in: a case, towel, soap, plastic baso, children’s toothpaste and fingernail clippers.

In order to strengthen institutions such as the Interior Department of Beni (UNASBVI), Water and Sanitation Committees technical staff Sumaj Huasi Foundation has conducted training workshops on “water quality and nutrition.”

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

Improve access to water services, sanitation and good hygiene practices, fairly and quality.

Project funded by UNICEF and implemented by the Sumaj Huasi Foundation “For healthy housing” in three departments of Bolivia: Potosi, Beni and Pando.
