As part of the activities of the Project “Improvement of hygiene, sanitation and sanitary infrastructure conditions”, more than 200 parents of students of the Chasquipampa Educational Unit of the city of La Paz were trained in hygiene practices, the responsible use of water, care and maintenance of health services.
The aim of the training workshops is to sensitize parents to good hygiene practices such as hand washing, techniques and key moments for proper hand washing, as well as the importance of body hygiene, in addition of the responsible use of water and the care of health services in educational units.
Juan Mamani, father of a family, thanked the institutions that make possible the implementation of the project “I am very happy because through these trainings we are also learning, one of the things that caught my attention was the bottle now not saving we have excuses not to wash our hands, “Mamani emphasized.
Reyna Kantuta, social technician of the Sumaj Huasi Foundation, said that the workshop was aimed at parents of first and second section students with the purpose of socializing the project and its scope “the workshop aims to raise awareness the parents on the important of these three themes and can support their children in their homes in a correct way what they learned through the training, “said Kantuta.
He also expressed that there is interest on the part of parents to know the proper technique of hand washing to prevent their children from contracting diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, hepatitis, among others.
The project is financed by the Education and Cooperation Foundation – EDUCO, in coordination with the Autonomous Municipal Government of La Paz and executed by the Sumaj Huasi Foundation “For Healthy Housing”.
The project will benefit students of the initial and primary level of 65 educational units in the city of La Paz, in the macro districts of Cotahuma, Max Paredes, Periférica, San Antonio, Sur and Hampaturi.
